The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and provides funding for the expansion of new outdoor recreational projects.
The Donard Glens Walking Trail will receive €7,200 for the installation of trail signage, maps, gates and benches.
A looped walking trail from the village of Knockananna will also receive funding worth €7,840.
€14,720 is being allocated for the production of a series of informative videos on each of the Wicklow Walks.
The Baltinglass Cycle Trails Project will benefit from €8,800 while 10 information trail boards on the Wicklow Way will undergo repair works worth €20,000.
Under Measure 2 of the 2018 Scheme The Vartry Reservoir Walk, which was opened by the Taoiseach last summer received €157,705 for an extension of facilities and car park.
€160,000 was allocated for the upgrade of the St Kevin's Way from Hollywood to Glendalough.
In Wicklow National Park, €149, 600 was allocated for rerouting and repair works at The Spinc.
