Pier and harbour projects in Wicklow Town are to benefit from €135,000 in local authority funding.
The funding will help Wicklow County Council to carry out works that will see the development of new heavy duty ship mooring bollards on the quay wall, recessed ladders and intermediate bollards and a floating pontoon which will increase capacity for small leisure vessels.
Wicklow TD Andrew Doyle says in addition to an immediate employment spin off during the works, the project will play a critical role attracting greater numbers of tourists to the area.
