Irish Rail is planning to carry out the work at night time. As such access is not expected to be impacted during the work, while it is being carried out. Irish Rail will be installing a new bridge deck, with a concrete structure.

Irish Rail will also be seeking to make the archway accessible, for easy access to the boardwalk.
Cllr Stephen Stokes added: "The boardwalk is a popular amenity. It has further opened up our seafront to those who are less mobile. This news is a further step forward for the community."
