Three estates in Wicklow will feature in the final episode of a two part documentary on RTE, which will air this weekend.
Ireland’s Historic Gardens examines the history of Ireland’s country house gardens over the last 400 years. The second episode begins at Powerscourt in Enniskerry, regarded by many as the most famous garden in Ireland.
Viewers will also be taken to Kilmacurragh estate off the N11 near Brittas Bay, which is part of the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland and home to the biggest rhododendron in Europe.
Mount Usher gardens in Ashford also features for boasting Ireland’s largest collection of eucalyptus, along with trees from China, Japan and Australia.
The programme airs at half past six on Sunday evening.
